LINKS The Eternal Solutreans In 17,000 B.C. at the height of the last Ice Age, intrepid and innovative white hunter-explorers from the civilization named after Solutré, France (photo above of the mountain where a key Solutrean cave was found) crossed the Atlantic along the ice shelf, hunting seals as they went, using superb, razor-sharp and razor-thin weapons that were thousands of years ahead of those of all other peoples on the planet earth. With these actually rather beautiful spear heads, white Solutreans could hunt, survive and settle in a North America that was full of saber-toothed tigers, mammoths and the ten-foot-tall short-faced bear. All this is shown in the brilliant Discovery Channel documentary "Ice Age Columbus." These light, thin, deep-slicing weapons enabled our innovative subspecies, in a time of drastic climate change, to prevail and to spread to new lands -- five thousand years before the melting of the ice between Siberia and Alaska permitted the first red men to cross over into North American from the other direction.
