Orthodox Patriarch Cyril: Russia is Europe, and the US war against Moscow comes down to this, war against Europe
The United States and its allies have ganged up on Russia because it has gone its own way and refuses to give up its Christian traditions, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill I, said.
Speaking about the ongoing clash between Moscow and the West over Ukraine during a sermon on Wednesday, the patriarch suggested that Russia and its people have entered “a very special period” in their history.
“Many have turned against us, and I keep asking myself: why did they do that? We are the same as many others. In general, we represent the same European cultural tradition. We are Christians,” he said.
“Today, even in Christian countries, they are rejecting Christ, God and the Church. Churches are being turned into places of entertainment or used for other purposes, but in our country the Church is building thousands of churches,” the patriarch explained.
Now is the time of “God’s special mercy” toward Russia and its people, the Patriarch insisted. This understanding “strengthens the hope that the Lord will be with us until we reject His guidance,” he said.
The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, who celebrated his 78th birthday on Wednesday, said that all his efforts are aimed at “ensuring that our Orthodox people never change the direction of their spiritual life.”
The question of the European nature of Russia is, in the opinion of Renovatio 21 , one of the main roots of the ongoing war. Russia, which uses an Indo-European language, which is grafted into the European history of Christian nations, has as its adversaries forces guided by the thought that by de-Europeanizing Moscow, a neutralizing isolation is obtained which leads to its loss of power and perhaps to decadence.
Zbigniew Brzezinski who – not unlike many neocon Jews – may have hated Russia for family reasons: his aristocratic dynasty had once reigned over the voivodeship of Tarnopol, a Polish area later passed to the USSR and now part of western Ukraine under the name of Ternopil.
In the containment of the USSR – that is, ultimately, of Russia: we have understood once and for all that communism had nothing to do with it – Brzezinski theorized the separation of Ukraine and Russia as a means of disintegrating the European aspect of the Russian character, thus effectively limiting it to Asia and finally causing it to collapse.
In 1998, Brzezinski wrote an article in which he revealed the idea that “without Ukraine, Russia ceases to be a Eurasian empire.” In 1997, he wrote in favor of a “loosely confederated Russia – consisting of a European Russia, a Siberian Republic, and a Far Eastern Republic” because “a decentralized Russia would be less susceptible to imperial mobilization.”
Brzezinski later expressed himself in favor of the bombing of Serbia by NATO in 1999 during the Kosovo war. At this point we see clearly what that tragic conflict of a quarter of a century ago was, which many of us still remember today: the war against Yugoslavia was nothing but a further operation of de-Europeanization of Russia, hit in its Slavic and European spirit, which is clearly reflected in the “Serbian relatives”.
Meanwhile, Russian intellectuals continue to question the issue. ” The Western elite has failed. The Russians are now the real Europeans ,” said Moscow political scientist Karaganov in January, the same one who – after years spent at the Trilateral Commission , a temple of Brzezinski’s thought created by the Rockefellers – now speaks of hypothetical atomic attacks on European cities .
“The West is closing the Iron Curtain, first of all because we in Russia are the real Europeans. We remain healthy. And they want to exclude these healthy forces. Secondly, the West is closing this curtain, even more tightly than during the Cold War, to mobilize its population for hostilities. But we do not need a military confrontation with the West, so we will rely on a policy of containment to prevent the worst,” Karaganov wrote.
“Of course we will not erase anything, including our European history. Yes, we have completed our European journey. I think it dragged on a bit, maybe for a century. But without the European vaccine, without European culture, we would not have become such a great power. We would not have had Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Pushkin or Blok.”
“So we will preserve the European culture, which the West of our continent seems to want to abandon. But I hope that it will not destroy itself completely, in this regard. Because Western Europe is not only abandoning Russian culture, but it is also abandoning its own culture. It is erasing a culture that is largely based on love and Christian values. It is erasing its history, destroying its monuments. However, we will not reject our European roots.”
“What does it mean for Russia to break with the West? It is salvation. The modern West, where the Rothschilds, Soros, Schwab, Bill Gates and Zuckerberg triumph, is the most disgusting thing in the history of the world. It is no longer the West of Greco-Roman Mediterranean culture, nor the Christian Middle Ages, nor even the violent and contradictory twentieth century. It is a cemetery of toxic waste of civilization, it is anti-civilization,” Dugin wrote a few days after the outbreak of the Moscow-Kiev conflict, considered not as “a war with Ukraine. It is a confrontation with globalism as an integral planetary phenomenon. It is a confrontation at all levels – geopolitical and ideological.”
“And the sooner and more completely Russia breaks away from it, the sooner it returns to its roots. To what? To its Christian, Greco-Roman, Mediterranean, European roots… That is, to the roots common to the true West.”
Beyond the thoughts of Russian minds, today more than ever wounded by the final betrayal of the West that has politically taken over Kiev, we too must make some assessments, since what is at stake is not an academic debate, but the fate of human civilization.
Is Russia Europe? For us, yes, and it cannot be otherwise. It is Europe that is no longer itself – it is Europe that has become a province of the empire of death, a place of madness and ruin for itself, for us, and for the world.
Returning Russia to Europe means ending the present conflict. Returning Europe to itself means avoiding even greater tragedies, the wars of Necroculture whose sole purpose is the destruction of civilization, the reduction of billions of people to suffering and slavery, the extermination of humanity as a whole.
Europe, for the sake of every human being, must come to its senses. The mission of each of us is to help this process, which is necessary – for us, for our descendants – like nothing else.
