My only objection to this is that the “Czech” and “Polish” towns on this list, as one glance at the architecture or a look into Wikipedia would show, were built in medieval times by Germans, who were expelled in 1945, often involving rape, torture and mass murder.
Neither country, Poland or Czechia, has the slightest right to boast about the beauty of this stolen property, or imply by omission to gullible American tourists that THEIR ancestors built it.
They should hang their heads in shame for expelling, murdering and stealing from their hard-working and beauty-conscious German citizens, who were there for 700 years or more!
Having lived in northern Tyrol in Austria, I am also very aware of the southern Tyrol issue. In World War One, as in World War Two, the Italians infamously switched sides and betrayed their German ally.
Why? Well, in WWI, they wanted South Tyrol, up in the Alps, though it was almost 100% German, and President Woodrow Wilson had brayed that the war was being fought for the lofty-sounding “self-determination of all peoples.”
Ludicrously, after being awarded the German South Tyrol for betraying their German alliance partner, the Italians then merely added an “o” or an “a” to the end of the name of these Tyrolean, germanic towns, but that hardly makes them Italian, does it?
