Fond memories of Willis Carto, a man among men
by John de Nugent
Margaret Huffstickler and I both wrote many articles for Willis
.
One of the greatest Americans ever, Willis Allison Carto, peacefully passed away at his home in Virginia on Monday, October 26, 2015, after doing more in his life than any other American, and for five decades, to expose the Jew World Order.

“He was a man. Take him for all in all.
I shall not look upon his like again.”
–Hamlet, Act I, Scene 2
I knew Willis well, and worked for him 1987-93 and 2005-08. (https://johndenugent.com/wn-biography-of-jdn/)
My ladyfriend Margaret Huffstickler and I produced 63 articles and translations for his Barnes Review magazine. This was maybe my favorite — “The Truth about Cattle Kate.” We worked on this together.
It is about a young couple, very decent Canadians, who had settled in Wyoming to farm, were defamed in 1889 and framed as being cattle rustlers. Then they were murdered by cattle barons. A Republican president then protected the murderers with the US Cavalry, and the fake-news media slandered them, and even called her a whore — after their horrific, slow deaths in a botched, ten-minute hanging.

I will start off with some anecdotes. First, some intro to a newer generation which never went through the traumatic 1960s, a decade of assassinations, race riots, culture shock, drugs, rock ‘n roll, “women’s lib,” and the Vietnam War debacle.
Victor Marchetti was a former high official of the CIA who wrote a whistle-blowing nationwide bestseller, The CIA and the Cult of Intelligence, exposing the crimes and out-of-control nature of “The Agency”.
I met him through Willis Carto in 1992, and later had an office next to Marchetti’s, which was located right across from Willis’s own office as the head of Liberty Lobby. My question to Victor was why a liberal Jew like Mark Lane, Carto’s lawyer (more on him right below), would ever team up with an antisemite and even closet national socialist like Willis Carto. His answer comes further on down below.
Marchetti and Mark Lane were then putting out together a newsletter, New American View, from the top floor of Carto’s Liberty Lobby building. The newsletter’s goal was to expose the behavior of Israel and of the illegal, unregistered Zionist lobby in America
HQ of Liberty Lobby and the Spotlight newspaper, across from the Library of Congress. As a sign above the door on the corner stated, it once was the “German-American Association Building” — that is, before 1917, when all things German were suddenly demonized by President Woodrow Wilson.
Lane was a very famous, Jewish but antizionist liberal, a top lawyer, a black civil-rights supporter, and a bestselling author.
Lawyer Mark Lane with President John Kennedy. Many Jewish liberals supported Kennedy and the black-civil-rights agenda.
Lane wrote two excellent books which became nationwide bestsellers about the murder of John Kennedy and the murderous cover-up — where 35 MORE innocent people died who “knew too much.”

.
The first Mark Lane bestseller on the Kennedy murder was the 1966 Rush to Judgment. The second was the 1991 Plausible Denial.
.
In 1985, defending Carto’s Liberty Lobby’s newspaper Spotlight, lawyer Mark Lane had won a court verdict for Willis Carto and Liberty Lobby against the infamous CIA agent, murderer, and burglar Howard Hunt. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E._Howard_Hunt)
Having provided this intro, I return finally to my question which I had put to Victor Marchetti, a very sincere one, as to why a liberal Jew like Mark Lane would help someone like Willis Carto. Was it just that both opposed Israel?
Victor thought a while about his answer, old CIA man that he was. (I had been in Marine Corps intelligence, and saw all the signs of a man who was careful with his words, but also a man who felt my question was important.)
“Well, John, among the Jews there is a tradition going back to the Talmud of debating about everything. In general, Jews grant each other the right to disagree, which they do not give to us lowly Gentiles.
Then, Mark has also gotten some hefty fees from Willis, and has done a very good job as his lawyer.
And he feels Willis has a right to express his opinions and not be shut down.
And he is very critical of Israel as a sincere liberal.
But… maybe the deciding factor is that Willis is a man’s man.
And men, even a Mark Lane, just like being around him.
He gets things done; he keeps his word; he is full of self-confidence and fight.
He has a good sense of humor.
Going out to lunch with Willis is always a treat.
He’s a giant among men.”

An excellent, neutral book on Carto and his fiery career, fraught with achievements and also powerful enemies, both Jews and other nationalists
Another anecdote:
On any given day back then, an amazing person, living in or passing through Washington DC, might just walk through the Liberty Lobby door, either with Willis, coming back from lunch, or on his way up the stairs to see Carto.
One that I met, around 1992, entering the building with “WAC,” was US Air Force colonel Fletcher Prouty.
I was entering the front door just as WAC and Prouty were. Willis just smiled at me and said, “John, this is Fletcher Prouty!”
THE Fletcher Prouty!!
As in this guy, portrayed by Donald Sutherland (r) as “Mr. X” in discussion with New Orleans DA Jim Garrison (Kevin Costner) in the Oliver Stone movie “JFK”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L._Fletcher_Prouty
Leroy Fletcher Prouty (January 24, 1917 “ June 5, 2001)[1] served as Chief of Special Operations for the Joint Chiefs of Staff under President John F. Kennedy. A former colonel in the United States Air Force, he retired from military service to become a bank executive. He subsequently became a critic of U.S. foreign policy, particularly the covert activities of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) about which he had considerable inside knowledge. Prouty was the inspiration for the character “Mr. X” in Oliver Stone‘s film JFK.[2]
Honestly, I simply shook Colonel Prouty’s hand, gazed into those famous eyes, and walked up the stairs behind him and Willis. Prouty had beautiful, crystal-blue eyes, was tall, and had outstanding posture and a nice smile.
Prouty wrote that he believed Kennedy’s assassination was a coup d’etat, and that there is a secret, global “power elite,” which operates covertly to protect its interests ”and in doing so has frequently subverted democracy around the world.[2]
Prouty was famous among Kennedy assassination buffs (and via the JFK movie by Stone) for revealing that as CIA head in New Zealand, he had read a headline in a New Zealand newspaper of the Kennedy assassination, but the issue was out on the news stands BEFORE the killing even took place!
Other famous men whom I met at Willis’s office were Mark Lane himself (and also at his Capitol Hill townhouse, where I also met his lovely wife Trish), the great French revisionist Professor Robert Faurisson,..
….and a slew of other famous patriots and revisionists, such as General Otto Ernst Remer, the crusty and loyal Prussian officer who crushed the July 20, 1944 assassination plot against Adolf Hitler.
I felt privileged to meet such great men and usually listened in respectful silence, grateful that Willis had chosen me to personally meet them.
All sorts of rightwing Congressmen (or ex-congressmen who had fallen afoul of the Jews and been voted out) also came through constantly. One was former Wisconsin US Congressman, major presidential candidate, arch-conservative, and Korean-War Marine pilot John Schmitz. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_G._Schmitz (He later dined with me and my wife at our home, and then we dined at their townhouse on Capitol Hill, located right behind the Supreme Court building. It once had been Senator Joe McCarthy’s house.)
This is a good juncture to mention another reason why I respected Willis Carto. He was a closet national socialist for decades, from the 1940s through the 1970s, but basically, to the public, he draped himself in the US Constitution.
Why?
1) it was far more acceptable to the masses than espousing “Hitler-was-right.” 😉
We know the drill.
2) We need the Constitution’s First and Second Amendments to have any freedom at all.
3) The mass-appeal Liberty Lobby was a conveyor belt that led many from some race-neutral Constitutionalism toward the full truth. Its weekly organ, The Spotlight, never went directly into race, or the Jews, or, God forbid! — Adolf.
You know — this evil guy. 😉
Willis recognized that Americans were far too brainwashed to hit them with the full truth all at once about race, the Jews or Hitler.
So he had The Spotlight — to get their feet wet with SOME of the truth.
And he ran discreet ads in this huge paper for his other, smaller, and more elite organizations, such as the IHR and his book-selling arm, Noontide Press, which offered more advanced truths.
Some Spotlight subscribers ignored the ads, year-in and year-out.
But others “bit,” and grew and evolved via Willis’ other organizations, and reached a higher level of understanding.
Willis also was capable of evolving himself — on a personal level. He used to be pretty hot-tempered as a younger executive, an old-style tycoon or autocrat, and rubbed a few people the wrong way.
Willis and I had a mutual friend in Peter Papaheraklis, a Greek immigrant, artist painter (as in the Carto portrait shown above) and successful businessman.
Pete eulogizing Willis in 2015. He loved him like a father.
After Pete read George Michael’s Willis Carto and the American Far Right, Pete exclaimed to me, “Wow, Willis sure had a lot of enemies!” 😉
Past tense.
I had once quit working for Willis in 1993, though he was paying me well, and really treating me very well also, right after I ran a successful demonstration against the opening of the US Holocaust Museum in April 1993. (https://johndenugent.com/wn-biography-of-jdn/) I and 30 other protesters interrupted speeches by Bill Clinton, the president of Israel and Elie Wiesel!
Washington City Paper
Willis and I just had several differences of opinion in 1993, and I was very frustrated at the decline of Spotlight subscriber numbers (as was he), and by other things. We all want to see more progress, and the “true believers” especially chafe when things are not advancing as they would like. So I quit — to study my real inner calling, spirituality, the study of the human condition, and work for the creation of a new Aryan religion to counter the Jews’ organized religion, Judaism.
Fast forward to 2005. I went back to work for Willis, and on Hitler’s birthday to boot, April 20th of ’05. 😉
Willis had actually changed. Yes, he was still a tough guy and a fighter, the king of Yang. But his “yin” side, his feminine side, kind, caring, tactful and considerate, was so much more in evidence.
Willis was an agnostic or atheist, because he was against anything he felt amounted to escapism.
But he tolerated my esoteric interests, and loved my articles. Once he said to me, in a fatherly way: “John, you may be crazy, but you ARE a genius.” 😉
Once I was in the car with him in southern California, in the Orange County area, in the late 1980s. Willis was really “lighting into” his very loyal and beautiful wife, Elizabeth. Frankly, I was not too pleased. I am an old-style, chivalrous type when it comes to women, or rather, to true ladies. ….But Willis “II,” the sequel 😉 , had become a much kinder person. I always saw him treat his wife with great respect and affection.
Margi (whom I met at his office) and I both came to love the evolved Willis. A thoroughly masculine man, he also developed his nurturing and understanding side. And are we not all here to evolve and grow?
Willis also used to have a stuttering problem — but only during his rare occasions to engage in public speaking. Mysteriously, it vanished in Willis II — because maybe he had more inner peace?
I will end my anecdotes with this one humorous story.
In December 2007, Senator Barack Obama was winning primaries left and right for president.
Chicks going crazy for the Hope and Change man.
I came into the office, and told Willis I had just read a huge, fact-packed exposé online about how Obama was really “a half-Jew, a homosexual in high school, and a closet communist at Harvard!”
Willis quipped to me (and to the whole editorial room, which burst out laughing):
“Then he’s perfectly qualified
to be president! 😉 “

Metapedia on Willis Carto:
http://en.metapedia.org/wiki/Willis_Carto
We owed to Willis’ vision, energy and leadership:
–the original and true IHR (the “Institute for Historical Review”) in southern California, which funded and organized revisionists who disproved the defamatory Holocaust lie. (I assisted a bit there with fundraising and bequests, and interpreted at an IHR conference for a Dutch female speaker, Florentine Rost van Tonningen);
–the weekly Spotlight newspaper, which once had 360,000 subscribers and 60 employees, located on Capitol Hill in Washington DC. It was the organ of Liberty Lobby: http://www.libertylobby.org/misc/llhistory.html
–American Free Press (www.americanfreepress.net), a weekly newspaper and the de facto successor to The Spotlight. It was located on Pennsylvania Avenue South East in Washington DC, just off Capitol Hill, until it moved from black-crime-racked DC in the Obama years out to suburban Maryland…
–and the Barnes Review magazine (www.barnesreview.org) (also on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington DC until the Maryland move….) a historical magazine that deals with race, Jews, Hitler, Germany, true American history, and ancient archeological mysteries (I have written many articles for them – https://johndenugent.com/wn-biography-of-jdn/about-john/important-articles-and-threads/)
After reading the following article on the life and passing of Mr. Carto,
http://www.counter-currents.com/2015/10/remembering-willis-carto-july-17-1926-october-26-2015/
…and feeling the tone and content were positive but a wee bit supercilious, unfair and disrespectful, I submitted the following, which Counter-Currents did not run.

.
In memoriam Willis Carto, 89, a great man I worked for 1987-93 and 2005-2008.
In age of beta males, metrosexuals and “low-T,” Willis Carto was a man’s man.
“John, I could have been a corporate lawyer and made a ton of money, but instead I chose this!” 😉
Willis Carto spent his life, seven days a week, to awaken and save YOU
from the nightmare that is approaching our race
from the Talmudic Jews.
.
Farewell, Willis, dear old friend.
You were a father figure to generations of us younger men who are fighters.
