Demonic, literally:

Obviously, what kind of a “god” would be pleased by you murdering a child?
In some cases, Christianity was right – some of the pagan gods were truly demons. I would add that this demonism also extended to the ancient Greek gods.
In Greek mythology, Iphigenia was a daughter of King Agamemnon and Queen Clytemnestra, and thus a princess of Mycenae. In the story, Agamemnon offends the goddess Artemis on his way to the Trojan War. She retaliates by preventing the Greek troops from reaching Troy unless Agamemnon kills Iphigenia at Aulis as a human sacrifice. In some versions, Iphigenia dies at Aulis, but in others, Artemis rescues her. In the version where she is saved, she goes to the Taurians and meets her brother Orestes. Btw, after King Agamemon returns victorious from Troy (having destroyed a great city of his fellow Aryans and raped its pitiful women, who had done nothing wrong …),
….his wife murders him for having sacrificed their daughter for his stupid war.
Here is my article on the Mesoamerican religions.
