Spiritual reading — You are NOT a rock or an island

Spread the love

September 26

You may want to shield yourself at times. And there are days when there are very good reasons to do so. When that feels right, you must protect yourself, yet we want to advise you to do it with care, correctly.

Many of you have a habit of protecting yourselves with impenetrable barriers. You put up the bulwarks and sit tight inside the fortress. Seems safe, but of course the problem of utter isolation arises rather quickly. You starve in there.

*** Famous 1965 Simon and Garfunkel song: “I am a rock”

“I Am A Rock”

A winter’s day
In a deep and dark December
I am alone
Gazing from my window
To the streets below
On a freshly fallen, silent shroud of snow

I am a rock
I am an island

I’ve built walls
A fortress, steep and mighty
That none may penetrate
I have no need of friendship
Friendship causes pain
Its laughter and its loving I disdain

I am a rock
I am an island

Don’t talk of love
Well, I’ve heard the words before
It’s sleeping in my memory
I won’t disturb the slumber
Of feelings that have died
If I never loved, I never would have cried.

I am a rock
I am an island

I have my books
And my poetry to protect me
I am shielded in my armor
Hiding in my room
Safe within my womb
I touch no one and no one touches me

I am a rock
I am an island

And a rock feels no pain
And an island never cries

All that is good and loving and nurturing is held at bay along with any
real or perceived dangers.

Many of you have probably practiced placing one sort or another of protective field around yourself.

It is best, though, if it is permeable. We suggest that you radiate light. With intention, this works as the most magnificent and most secure field you can create. When you are consciously beaming love and light in a radius of three or more feet around yourself, you draw to you all that is of the light and you repel that which is other.

***Auras ARE real

I notice this with two people, one a woman from South Carolina, Raye Autry. I met her in the early 1970s with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She died a few years back, as I learned from an obituary online. When that woman entered the room, everybody began to smile and sit up. She just carried energy, happiness and light. She was also very intelligent, dignified, and had perfect, erect posture.  I could tell she had her doubts about some JW doctrines, as did I, but she felt this was her path.

The other was David Duke. It was a dark charisma, and everyone who got involved with him lost everything.

I saw him in a New Orleans nightclub, and even the jewesses on the dance floor were drawn to him, like a moth to a flame. 😉

They say an evil aura is shot through with red and black. I could not see it with Duke, but I could feel it.

You may not feel particularly threatened today, but there will be currents which could easily carry you to places you have neither wish nor need to go.

Surrounding yourself with light is always a good practice, so why not?

***  This refers to an actual practice.

Visualize a glowing tube of light all around yourself.

The one thing you really want to watch for is any old way of staying safe which involves turning inward and shutting out everything from without.

At this time it is not tenable to pull so far back from the network of light which is forming, forming, forming.

You are needed, as we will not stop reminding you.

Your light is needed. And each of you in turn are coming to need, more and more, the love and light of others who have the capacity to share it.

*** Hence the need for a religion, not just a philosophy for individuals

We need others — to pray for them, be prayed for by them, and to see them socially and encourage each other in our struggles.

As the tangible dimension becomes increasingly bizarre and difficult to grasp, your connection to others with whom you can hold higher and truer vibration becomes more important. It is almost as if the means by which you feed your soul has become more essential than the means by which you feed your physical
being.

Now, some of you may say that this has always been the case for you, and in fact, given the choice, you may have chosen spiritual sustenance over comestibles.

But we are really talking about a diminished need from the physical, coupled with a growing one from the spiritual. Think about it—even the most devout of ordinary folk (here we want to except saints and ascetics of various sects and faiths) have always known that God lies in the land, in the sustenance of the people.

God smiles on you when you are blessed with happiness and abundance in life.

We think that many of you will find that the relational geometry between humans, the sacred and the profane, is shifting. This is our lengthy way of saying, don’t lock yourself in—you’ll die of spiritual starvation long before you run out of rice.

There is fear about these times, and it is your challenge, and your job, to bring to bear courage and faith and hope and an alternative means of seeing what is.

Please try to be especially gentle with yourselves and one another today. Do your best to be love, and to prevent yourself from retreating behind walls that can only imprison you.

We love you and send great blessings. — E. West
