Austrian Gerd Honsik waits for the start of his appeal trial in courtroom in Vienna December 3, 2007. Austrian Holocaust denier Honsik, who is appealing his sentence by an Austrian court in 1992 to 18 months in prison for publishing a book called “Acquittal for Hitler”, was extradited in October 2007 from Spain to Austria 15 years after he fled his homeland to evade a prison sentence. The 65-year-old was convicted under a law banning people from re-engaging in activities in support of Adolf Hitler’s Nazi party or its ideas, which includes publishing Nazi propaganda.
