Jason Tankersley I think he’s trying to secure his support for the military in case there is an attempt to remove him from Office. I’ve said it from day one and I don’t think it’s conspiracy theory that he fears a coup and he wants to have the military in his back pocket.

John de Nugent I agree 100%, but it is a slippery slope, because to kiss their warlike asses he is adopting the anti-Russian measures they want. This could lead to a flashpoint (over Ukraine, North Korea, Syria, Iran or even Venezuela, Pakistan or China.) Then Trump, being Trump, Mr. Tough Guy, will not back down, and we will slip-slide into a WWIII scenario.

Jason Tankersley I don’t look for any type of World War III but minor conflicts are guaranteed North Korea probably Venezuela less possibly proxy wars with Russia for sure.

Michael Sokoloski The Deep State are actually afraid of another Korean Conflict. “Our allies,” South Korea will surely perish along with the DPRK in any conventional or nuclear war. This is the only thing preventing a full-blown war. These scumbags are fully aware of the ramifications.

KJU only wants a peaceful reunification of Korea. Why can’t they have that? You do realize, that without a nuclear threat, North Korea would be the next Iraq/Libya/Syria.

John de Nugent He did, to avoid Vietnam, like many other rich kids (such as Dubya and Cheney). It was obvious already to President John Kennedy (and to my father, then a Marine Corps captain and combat veteran of two wars) that we could not win there.

I grew up during this time and it was clear that the media and government were lying and the war was lost. I am therefore not so critical of people who tried to avoid this war.

My town is full of old men who as young soldiers, marines and some sailors (esp. in the Swift Boat river patrols) were severely damaged by Vietnam: PTSD, Agent Orange sicknesses, suicides, alcoholism, domestic violence, divorce, etc.
.
Also, most of the South Vietnamese people did not support us or their own government, which was very corrupt. The Vietnamese basically did not want us white or black men in their country, interfering and telling them what to do. “Yankee, Go Home” was how they felt.
