Trump made the audacious claim while discussing fraught US-China relations at a press conference in New York on Wednesday. The president declared that he likes China and believes the feeling is mutual before going on to explain why the nation’s president, Xi Jinping, respects him.
“If you look at Mr Pillsbury, the leading authority on China… he was saying that China has total respect for Donald Trump and for Donald Trump’s very, very large brain,” Trump said, speaking of himself in the third person.
The expert in question was Michael Pillsbury – the director of the Center for Chinese Strategy, a conservative think tank in Washington and author of The Hundred Year Marathon: China’s Secret Strategy to Replace America as the Global Superpower.
Trump was apparently referring to Pillsbury’s interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News last month, in which he described Trump as “so smart” and said the US leader was “playing three-dimensional chess with China.”
Of course, Trump’s bragging comment went down a treat on Twitter, leaving many dumbfounded by the president’s incredible boast.

When I met with Patton, who has now reincarnated as Trump, in December 1945, and we were both souls in the afterlife, I was genuinely curious to meet the man who had killed 250,00 of my troops… the one general whose actual generalship we feared, not just the sheer quantity of his soldiers and equipment.
We saw the Americans and Soviets as basically winning by quantity, not quality, but this Patton was different.
I knew also that Patton, after the war, had woken up to the Jewish and bolsheviks threats to America, and had then been “accidented” after announcing he was going to resign from the Army, go home to America and wake it up about the jews and the communist sympathizers in our government.
But this egomaniac had no interest in any dialogue with me, no ability to self-critique (as I was then doing), and he made a point of viewing me with scorn as the “loser” of the war.
Well, yeah, “lost” thanks in large measure to him — and other idiotic goy generals who had ignored the warnings about the ultimate result of WWII that had been given sternly, loudly, and repeatedly by the America First Committee, by national heroes Charles Lindbergh and Henry Ford, and by Major General Mosely!
Now, with Europe in ruins and half-bolshevik, here is Trumpatton in June 1945 during a speech in Los Angeles, boasting as always, and gloating in his own brutality for having destroyed Germany:
