UPDATE: Several readers have pointed out to us that the original version of my Hitler-Argentina exposé (a copy of a Mike King — http://TomatoBubble.com blog, with photos added by me) appeared to lump Harry Cooper, the author of the book Hitler in Argentina, into the same category as pro-zionist Jerome Corsi (who is excellent on Obama and the birth-certificate/eligibility issue, but very dubious, as a Zionist tool, in other ways) and Simoni Dias, and accused plagiarists like Simon Dunstan and Gerrard Williams.
For the benefit of anyone who may have come away with that mistaken impression, I wish to clarify, in strongest possible terms, that I hold Harry Cooper’s record of historical research, and the integrity of his resumé, in the highest regard, and I actually link to his site.

The use of the word “hoax” in the Mike King article reproduced below, for which he apologized to Cooper, and the logically related insinuation of a purely profit-oriented motive, both in his blog and in his recent interview with Red Ice Radio, were meant to apply to the deliberately outlandish claims of most of the other ‘Argentinists’, not to Harry Cooper.
Mike King, who is an excellent and fearless blogger whom I enjoy reading over at http//tomatobubble.com and also at The Rebel in Australia (example: http://therebel.website/en/mike-king/819441-whites-more-likely-to-be-killed-by-cops) should have been clearer about that distinction.
Although I strongly maintain my disagreement with the conclusions which Cooper reached in regard to Hitler escaping to Argentina, I wish to make clear that Cooper seems to me a man of integrity and sincerity, a patriot, and politically incorrect in every good way. 🙂 And I urge one and all to subscribe to become a member of Sharkhunters!
As I wrote to Cooper on December 12, 2014 in an email (edited):
Your theory is that Bormann drugged Hitler and took him to South America. Well, Martin Bormann DID run things more and more toward the end, and Hitler was indeed a Parkinsons’-ridden and ill man in 1945. It is a far cry from this photo of a beaming and healthy Hitler before the second world war…..
….to this sad photo of ailing and grieving man down in the Bunker, with six years of tragedy written all over his face as his nation went down….
Your theory therefore is well worth putting out there. (We are, after all, studying one of the most important giants of world history, a fact which all concede whether one loves or hates the man.)
There is also no question whatsoever that many important NS Germans did go to South America. (I also am a strong proponent of the Antarctic evacuation theory, that some went even further south, to underground bases near the South Pole.)
So none of what you write is nonsense to me. I merely think Hitler was NOT one of the many who went. But everything could also have happened exactly as you write.
I also respect your Sharkhunters and your overall thrust. l might just be the most germanophile man in America, and so I really appreciate the overall Sharkhunters message, that the German solders as a whole were very brave, honorable, innovative, and highly respectful as well of the Hague rules of war and the Geneva rules on prisoners.
(Too bad General Patton did not realize all this about the German people until AFTER the war!)
We can respectfully disagree about the Hitler-in-Argentina theory but — for your overall work — I wish you and Sharkhunters all the best!

It’s a fantastic story, told (and sold) with great passion, but is there any logical basis to it?
In reviewing the “evidence” to support the Hitler & Eva in Argentina hypothesis, one of the things that immediately struck your humble author was the grand pronouncements of the various authors or their publicists. (Sound & Fury Syndrome) The teaser for the 2005 book, Hitler’s Escape, by Ron T. Hansig assures us:
“In this magisterial study Ron T. Hansig has for the first time brought together and examined all of the available published material, together with some new and some previously overlooked source documents. Ron T. Hansig is not a conspiracy theorist; he sets out his evidence, clearly and logically – and invites the reader to make up their own mind.”
In 2010 came, El Exilio de Hitler / Hitler’s Exile by Abel Basti, which purported to present “new documents” to prove that Hitler escaped to Argentina.
The 2013 Grey Wolf: The Escape of Adolf Hitler by Simon Dunstan and Gerrard Williams, boasts:
“In a riveting scenario that has never been fully investigated until now, international journalist Gerrard Williams and military historian Simon Dunstan make a powerful case for the Führer’s escape to a remote enclave in Argentina-along with other key Nazis ”where he is believed to have lived comfortably until 1962. Following years of meticulous research, the authors reconstruct the dramatic plot-including astonishing evidence and compelling testimony.”
British Historian Guy Walters, described Grey Wolf as “2,000 per cent rubbish” adding:
“It’s an absolute disgrace. There’s no substance to it at all. It appeals to the deluded fantasies of conspiracy theorists and has no place whatsoever in historical research.
“There were many people in the bunker and it takes a giant leap of the imagination to get from a museum in Russia to him living a life in Argentina. The idea that everybody in the bunker was in on the plan is infeasible. It just would not have happened.”
Though generally loathe to concur with Establishment court-historians, and personally hoping to discover that the deserving Fuhrer did finally get to live out a peaceful life with the lovely Eva, I have arrived at the same conclusion as Walters and will provide the reasons.
Walters, King and Sugar the Cat are in agreement. The Hitler-in-Argentina tale is B.S.
Adding to the criticism of Grey Wolf were the angry accusations of plagiarism made by the aforementioned Abel Basti of Argentina. Co-author Williams fired back, “Basti did in no way invent the idea of Hitler being alive in Argentina. Dunstan added, “Books on the subject existed as far back as 1953 and 1987. I have never plagiarised anyone’s work.”
Brazilian Jew Simoni Renee Guerreiro Dias, who wrote, Hitler in Brazil – His Life and His Death claims that Hitler escaped to Brazil, not Argentina, where he married a Black woman and lived incognito until 1984. “I am convinced this is true”, says Ms. Dias.
In January 2014 came Hitler in Argentina: The Documented Proof of Hitler’s Escape from Berlin, by Harry Cooper. The hype surrounding this book dazzles and entraps the unsuspecting target with bold claims of “absolute proof”.
In November 2014, best-selling neo-con author Jerome Corsi got into the act with, Hunting Hitler: New Scientific Evidence That Hitler Escaped Nazi Germany, which hysterically boasts of “DNA evidence” to make his case.
The ‘Argentinists’ continue to cash-in on Hitler’s name by making bold claims supported by logical fallacies, verbosity, hear-say and wild conjecture.
And on and on the literary genre of Hitler-in-Argentina rolls. Bold claims with each subsequent “historian” adding a new and improved, “never seen before” twist to the fictional saga. In addition to the trumpeted claims of “overwhelming evidence”, each of these accounts relies exclusively upon unexamined “witnesses”, 3rd party, and even 4th party ‘hear-say’, along with wild conjecture.
The authors start with a pre-determined conclusion in mind, and then bend facts to suit their purposes. Insignificant Soviet quips regarding Hitler’s body are breathlessly hailed as smoking-gun evidence of a plot to escape Berlin. Massive holes in the Argentina theory are filled with imaginative scenarios which leave the reader with the daunting challenge of disproving a negative. It all makes for riveting drama, but so do all works of good fiction.
Before we deconstruct the Argentina hypothesis, let us briefly review the key data-points of the official story of Hitler’s suicide in Berlin.
THEORY # 1: HITLER COMMITTED SUICIDE IN BERLIN
DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE
As the Soviet hordes advanced upon his Berlin bunker, Hitler penned his ‘Final Political Testament‘ on April 29, 1945. – a document whose authenticity is unquestioned. In it, he wrote of his intention to commit suicide:
“I should like, by remaining in this town, to share my fate with those, the millions of others, who have also taken upon themselves to do so. Moreover I do not wish to fall into the hands of an enemy who requires a new spectacle organized by the Jews for the amusement of their hysterical masses.
I have decided therefore to remain in Berlin and there of my own free will to choose death at the moment when I believe the position of the Fuehrer and Chancellor itself can no longer be held.”
I die with a happy heart, aware of the immeasurable deeds and achievements of our soldiers at the front, our women at home, the achievements of our farmers and workers and the work, unique in history, of our youth who bear my name.”
Hitler and Eva took their lives on the 30th; he by poison and gunshot; she by poison. The bodies were then taken outside and burned.
Hitler dictated his ‘suicide note’. Traudl Junge (above) typed it.
EYE OR EAR WITNESS EVIDENCE
Some of the others who were either present in the bunker when this event took place, or arrived soon afterwards to watch the bodies burn, include:
- Dr. and Mrs. Josef Goebbels (Minister of Propaganda & Public Enlightenment)
-
Traudl Junge (Hitler’s secretary who typed out Hitler’s Testament)
-
Johann Rattenhuber (Head of Hitler’s personal bodyguards)
-
Constanze Manziarly (Hitler’s cook)
-
Ernst-Günther Schenck (SS Colonel & Doctor)
-
Rochus Misch (Hitler’s bodyguard)
- Martin Bormann (Deputy Fuhrer)
Mr. & Mrs. Goebbels would later commit suicide and Borman was said to have been killed while trying to escape Berlin. Manziarly disappeared after last being seen in the custody of two Soviets. Rattenhuber lived until 1957, Schenck lived until 1998, Junge until 2002, and Misch actually lived until 2013, and, like the others, never altered his story. Said Misch:
“I was in the room next door when he shot himself. I did not hear the shot but I saw his uncovered corpse when the door was opened. I saw Hitler slumped with his head on the table. I saw Eva Braun sitting dead in the corner of the sofa, her head turned to Hitlerher knees pulled up to her chest. She had a dark blue dress on and a white frill on her collar.”
And Traudl Junge:
“Suddenly there is the sound of a shot, so loud, so close, that we all fall silent. It echoes on through all the rooms. ‘That was a direct hit,’ cried Helmut [Goebbels] with no idea how right he is. The Führer is dead now.”
Bunker witnesses Misch, Junge, Schenck lived to old age. Their consistent testimonies are recklessly ignored or waved aside by the book-selling Argentinists.
FORENSIC EVIDENCE
In spite of the Soviet Union’s unexplained desire to allow a certain amount of uncertainty to remain about Hitler’s death, the fact remains that they also claimed to have examined the body and determined it to be that of Hitler. Soviet ambiguity thus neither proves nor disproves anything.
However, examination of what were known to be Hitler’s actual dental records, obtained by the Americans from Hitler’s dentist, revealed elaborate dental work that perfectly matched the results of the original Russian autopsy. During the 1970’s, world renown dental experts, Sognnaes & Strom, on their own initiative, published a definitive report that has been internationally peer-reviewed and universally recognized. (Here)
The Argentinists ignore the fact that Hitler’s dental bridge work records match-up perfectly to the Soviet autopsy. Dr. Reidar Sognnaes (right) was Dean of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and founding Dean of the UCLA School of Dentistry. Sognnaes & Strom were scholars of the first rank in the field of oral pathology.
- that Hitler (a thrice-decorated, twice-wounded war hero who volunteered for dangerous duty) turned into a deceiving coward who faked his Final Testament, tricked his inner circle, and then abandoned ship as his city was being destroyed. (The Cooper book makes the amazing claim that Martin Borman orchestrated the escape without Hitler’s consent by switching poisons and thus only putting Hitler and Eva to sleep.)
- that witnesses such as Rattenhuber, Schenck, Junge, and Misch all kept the secret until their dying day (even though Hitler had abandoned them to the Soviets), or had somehow been duped while innocent body doubles were killed and then thrown into the cremation fire
- that the Russians somehow created fake dental records that forensic dentists 30 years later would be able to match-up to American-obtained dental records, or, that Dr. Sognnaes & Dr. Strom became co-conspirators 30 years after the fact
Well, guess what? None of the above scenarios have been proven; and that’s a fact! Instead, all the Argentinists have to offer us are speculative scenarios of how elements of the conventional narrative could have been faked. The entire Argentina case can be summed up by one of Sherlock Holmes proverbs regarding investigative work:
“It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories instead of theories to suit facts.”
Like Global Warmists, Holohoaxers and Evolutionists, the Argentinists begin with a conclusion, and then rationalize away all of the documentary, witness, and forensic evidence that Hitler died in Berlin. It’s like saying that Elvis Presley could have faked his death by doing this or doing that; and that he could have enlisted the help of this or that person, and that the doctor and the morgue could have been paid off, and so on. One can write page after page of such riveting fiction with that type of baseless theorizing, but the manufactured structure will have no relation to reality. The aforementioned evidence for the Berlin suicide remains intact, and the Argentinists know it.
As far as the evidence in favor of the Argentina theory, we must therefore expect it to be so “overwhelming”, so indisputable, so “in-your-face”, that it renders the Berlin suicide scenario, no matter how compelling its witnesses and data-points may seem, a moot point. And by the way, the mere proclamation of “overwhelming evidence” and “documentation”, combined with great verbal and written dexterity, proves nothing. Just the facts, please.
Now, lets have a look at the major points of the case for the “escape to Argentina”.
The Express article, dated April 15, 2014, breathlessly informs us:
“The astonishing documents detail how an Argentinean fugitive claimed he helped Hitler, two women and other Germans disembark from a submarine in the South American country approximately two and half weeks after the fall of Berlin in April 1945.
Hitler and his companions then went by horse pack to the foothills of the southern Andes, and the plan was for the 50-strong group to move in with German families in villages in the area.”
Wow! Hoover’s FBI is saying this? This really is “astonishing”! Not so fast, my hasty friends. Let’s dig deeper into the body of the article.
“The Argentinian informant, who gave the information over to the US authorities hoping to get asylum in return, is not named in the papers.”
Oh great. An “unnamed” (name redacted) Argentinian is trying to weasel his way into America. And if he is an asylum seeker, it probably means that he was a Marxist wanted by the anti-Communist military government of Argentina.
“The informant even gave directions to Hitler’s whereabouts, and said: “If you will go to a hotel in San Antonio, Argentina, I will arrange for a man to meet you there and locate the ranch where Hitler is. It is heavily guarded of course, and you will be risking your life to go there.”
Many high-ranking ‘Nazis’ did indeed escape to Argentina. How does the unnamed informant know this ranch is Hitler’s? He is either trying to pull an immigration fraud, or may have simply bought into some local gossip about “that German on the ranch over there is Hitler”.
Towards the end of the article we read that other “documented” tip-offs to the FBI suggested Hitler was actually living in New York City, without his moustache! Still others claimed he was hiding in Switzerland.
You see, the FBI, like any other law enforcement agency, will generally make a record of any claim that anybody submits to it. One can visit an FBI building and falsely report that Mickey Mouse is planning to bomb the Empire State Building. The Bureau will dutifully note the allegation and Voila! A future generation of crackpot “historians” will then have access to “FBI documentation” of Mickey Mouse the terrorist.
Harry Cooper’s best-selling Hitler in Argentina produces further “FBI documentation”, dating back to 1945:
Again, ignore the psychological effect of the government letterhead and focus on the substance. The very first sentence gives the ‘hear-say’ scam away:
“The following information was brought to the attention of the Los Angeles Field Office by (name redacted) who advised that the information was originally received by an individual on the (redacted).
In other words, the informant heard it from a friend who heard it from another friend who….blah, blah, blah. Hear-say put into writing is not “documentation” of the Argentina scenario! The only event that has been legitimately documented here is the fact that some unvetted fruit-loop reported an unproven allegation to the FBI. Nothing more! This garbage would be thrown out of any court before the rest of the letter was even read! Shame on you Mr. Cooper.
Bottom line; there is no real “documentation” of Hitler escaping to Argentina. None!
EYE-WITNESS EVIDENCE
In spite of Hitler supposedly living until 1965, the Argentinists can point to no direct eye-witnesses, living or dead, who credibly corroborated, under cross-examination, their case for a dramatic escape. Just like their “documentation”, all the “witnesses” turn out to either be people who heard it from a friend who heard it from another friend; or a few Spaniards and Argentinian locals who have never been cross-examined, and would have had no way of knowing if the “important couple” was actually Adolf & Eva or any of the 100’s of other escaped “Nazi” officials who really did arrive in Argentina.
This type of shoddy investigative work was clearly illustrated during an interview with an Argentine news program in which Abel Basti, the founding father of the Argnentinist School of non-thought, put his foot in his mouth:
Romero (Interviewer): “On what basis do you claim that Hitler was in Spain after leaving his Berlin bunker?”
Basti: “I was able to confirm the presence of Hitler in Spain thanks to a ”now elderly ”Jesuit priest, whose family members were friends of the National Socialist leader.
You see, Basti heard it from a unnamed friend who heard it from another friend who…
1- Genre Godfather Abel Basti was never ‘able’ to come up with any actual direct witnesses.
2- “He oàdo que Hitler vive allà.” (I heard that Hitler is living over there.)
One can cite unnamed contacts and unnamed, un-cross-examined witnesses from now until Hitler returns. The fact remains, no judge worth his salt would ever admit such non-sensical hear-say into his courtroom, no matter how passionate or articulate the speaker of such falsehoods may appear.
Bottom line; there is no real first party “eye-witness evidence” of Hitler escaping to Argentina. None!
FORENSIC EVIDENCE
Jerome Corsi, the neo-con newcomer to the ‘plagiarize-your-predecessor’ Argentina School of fakery, ups the ante in a big way with a screaming claim of ‘DNA Evidence’ to prove his case. Upon closer inspection we learn that Corsi is speaking of alleged DNA evidence that some skull fragments said to have been Hitler’s turned out to be that of a woman’s. We have already acknowledged that the Soviets played mind games with this matter, alternating between definitive statements that Hitler died in Berlin, and ambiguous statements that maybe he didn’t.
So if some fragments indeed don’t add up, how in the hell does that constitute “DNA evidence” that Hitler escaped to Argentina? Perhaps the wrong skull fragments were analyzed? Or maybe Eva’s got mixed in? Or maybe the fragments came from the wrong sample? Or maybe the Soviets were still having fun with this? Conjecture much, Dr. Corsi? Of course, Corsi ignores the previously established and peer-reviewed forensic match between Hitler’s American-held dental records and the original Russian autopsy results.
The only other item that the Argentinists can cite as “forensic evidence” is a very weird and thoroughly inconclusive photograph of an aging Adolf Hitler in Argentina. Harry Cooper attaches so much significance to this ‘smoking gun’ photo that he has it featured on the back cover of his book. Have a look:
The caption beneath ‘old man Hitler’ reads:
“Photo on right surfaced online apparently shows Hitler near the end of his life.”
“Surfaced online”? Are you flippin’ kidding me Harry?! “Surfaced online”? Dude! Anyone with basic photo-shop skills can bring an older version of Julius Caesar or Abe Lincoln back to life. Heck, I’ve even seen images of First Beast Michelle Obongo that have “surfaced online” in which he/she “apparently” looks (gulp) moderately attractive. If this is the level of Cooper’s scholarship, one needn’t waste any money buying the book (as I did). But it is good fiction that would give Tom Clancey a run for his money.
The photo on Cooper’s book struck your intrepid reporter here as oddly familiar. Suspicions grew upon the discovery of images from a Hitler movie. The “online” photo of the man who Cooper expects us to believe is old man Adolf appears to be an altered image of actor Bruno Ganz, from Downfall, the 2004 movie about Hitler’s final days. Have a look at Cooper’s “online” Hitler vs. Ganz’s movie Hitler. What say you, reader?
Focus hard on the nose, mouth and distinctive chin.
Whether or not Cooper’s Hitler is really an altered image of Ganz is not important. The indisputable point is that the photo, which Cooper himself admits “surfaced online”, proves NOTHING.
Bottom line; there is no “forensic evidence” of Hitler escaping to Argentina. None!
Let us review what we have just established by using a simple table.

- A few ambiguous statements made by the devious Soviets
- Doubts supposedly uttered by some big name Americans (Eisenhower, Truman, etc.)
- The known fact that many ‘Nazis’ did indeed escape to South America
- Decades ‘after the fact’ hear-say from a few unnamed, un-vetted, or un-cross-examined “witnesses”
But the cryptic statements of the Soviets prove nothing. Stalin and his gang were infamous liars and master players of mind-games. Why do the Argentinists place so much emphasis on a few innocuous throw-away lines, while ignoring the other Soviet claims which confirmed the suicides. More importantly, what about the detailed testimony of those who were with Hitler until the end? And the matching dental records? Was everybody “in on it”, or duped? Prove it!
Either the Argentinists are con-men in search of a dollar, or they are putting the conclusion first and bending the Soviet ambiguity and the hear-say to suit their pre-determined theory. As for the one-liners attributed to General Eisenhower, President Truman and others; well, those men were not present at the bunker, neither on April 30th, nor in the days afterwards. Berlin was owned by the Soviets, which meant that American officials had to rely upon whatever version-of-the-day that Stalin was peddling. Therefore, as convincing as the deceptive name-dropping may sound to the easily impressed, all Eisenhower and Truman were really saying (assuming the quotes are even accurate) is this: “Stalin said this, and then Stalin said that.”, which confers no additional credibility, at all, to the Argentina theory.
Truman: “Come on Uncle Joe! Fess up. Did you get Hitler in Berlin or not?”
Stalin: Maybe we did…. Maybe we didn’t. Ha Ha Ha.”
Author Harry Cooper is very passionate, articulate, engaging, interesting, and extremely knowledgeable about German submarines. But the fact remains, neither Cooper, nor any of his predecessors or successors, can cite any real documentary, eye-witness, or forensic evidence whatsoever. Cooper’s answer to his critics (and there are many) is a classic example of ‘Negative Proof Fallacy‘. Though most of the 7,700 members of his $50-per year ‘Sharkhunters’ organization appear to have gone ‘ga-ga’ over his ‘game-changing’ book, Cooper does have some very angry detractors. Here’s how Cooper, on his own website, strikes back at one of his critics:
“He (the critic) goes on and on, point by point attempting to show that this book is incorrect. We did not include it all because it goes on and on for page after page – none of it proving his point that this book is wrong.”
Harry, Harry, Harry. You sound exactly like those Global Warming con-men who love to concoct dazzling mathematical equations and computer models, and then challenge the “deniers” to prove their theory wrong.
Time for some Socratic reasoning and logic, Harry.
Argument: “X is true. You can’t prove that X is false. Therefore X is true.”
Reality: X might be false. Just because one cannot prove X to be false, does not make it true.
You see Harry, it is not up to your critics to prove that your book is wrong. The burden is upon YOU to prove that your book is right. Again, absent any real documentary, eye-witness, or forensic evidence, (which the Berlin scenario has plenty of!) you have failed to do so.
The Argentinists seize upon a few bits of Stalinist ambiguity along with the known fact that many ‘Nazis’ did indeed escape Germany. They then carelessly (or mischievously?) throw out all documentary, eye-witness and forensic evidence for Hitler’s suicide as they weave a fantastic tale of fake suicides, switched poison, murdered body doubles, submarines, unnamed sources, dead sources, third party hear-say, phony online photos of old man Hitler, photos of Hitler’s supposed hideaway, and secret deals between governments. Finally, they throw the whole putrid package at us all at once, challenging us to “prove the book wrong” as they rack up the sales.
What a joke! I leave it to the reader to decide whether any or all of the Argentinists are merely shoddy researchers, or just money-grubbing hoaxsters. Either way, their deluded dramas are 100% certifiable fecal-fiction, wrapped in academic-sounding shiny packages.
