From 1998 to 2014 I (sometimes with my friend Margaret Huffstickler) wrote (or translated) 62 articles, among them six cover stories, for the excellent popular history magazine, The Barnes Review.

It is named after Harry Elmer Barnes, a once widely harry-elmer-barnes-bw-photo read and great American historian who supported US entry into World War One under President Woodrow Wilson, then felt furious at how we were lied into that tragic, gory and utterly stupid war that accomplished nothing but the rise of communism and the death of millions of fine young men, and thus a gigantic genetic loss of our best and brightest human stock.
