Almost every town on this map has the name of a Catholic saint. Quebec used to be extremely devout and Catholic until the 1960s when many factors discredited the RC Church — among them, how it worked hand-in-glove with the English-speaking masters that dominated this 80% French-speaking province. The goal was a dumb, obedient, fertile, uneducated population. The RC Church actually directly controlled the public schools. Btw, the town at the bottom of this map, Charlemagne, is where singer Célinie Dion grew up. Henrik loved cats, perhaps inheriting that love from his veterinarian father. He was a very nice, clean-cut young man of 21 in 2008.
In fact, it was I who in a way got him and his wife or partner together (she was supporting me a bit financially and helping with editing some very important writing), I told her in the sincerest terms what a wonderful young man Henrik was, that he was loving, might even make a great husband, and especially how he loved children. I was so happy when they got together and then had a baby!
I taught Henrik how to blog and edited his series on Finnish war hero Lauri Törni, the only Waffen-SS officer buried now in Arlington National Cemetery!

Törni as a Finnish officer, a Waffen-SS officer and a US Army Green Beret sergeant, who was killed in Vietnam. Henrik and I visited his gravesite when we drove 200 miles to a Washington DC immigration hearing for him. We also drove 250 miles across Pennsylvania to Philadelphia for another immigration hearing, and were so poor we could not take the Pennsylvania Turnpike back, instead taking country mountain roads across the Appalachian Mountains for nine hours in an all-night drive.
It was of course I and my then fiancée who welcomed Henrik for eight months into my house in 2008-09, and he was often on my radio show – and he was the subject and hero of my radio show after he was arrested in America in March 2009 as we all worked hard to raise support for him.
