Her injuries were never life-threatening and Laura never saw any tunnel of light, dead relatives, angels, or a life-review video.

Out of Body Experience Story 2014

In 2014, when I was still living in Wyoming, I was hit from behind on a highway on my way home with my 12-year-old daughter and her friend from swimming in the hot springs.

I was turning onto my road. An 85 year old man with dementia never even slowed down or went around us.

On impact, I was awake. We were spinning around really fast. I got a glimpse in the rear view mirror of my daughter swaying back and forth with the force of the impact. Her friend was in the front seat with me. In the rear view mirror, I also saw a tall dark figure sitting in the middle seat. I have no idea what “it” was, but it was definitely there.

My car landed in a cow field just past my road. I was knocked out.

Then I became aware of stepping outside of my car on the passenger side. I saw my feet. Saw my sandals, my legs, the shorts I was wearing. There was barbed wire under my feet.

I stood up and saw in the distance my daughter and her friend sitting on a hill in front of the car yelling at me to get out of the car… that they smelled gasoline…I heard and saw them speak to me.

As I was looking around the area, I saw the highway where my car was hit, saw the car that hit us, saw all the contents of my trunk all over the road. That was to my left. To my right were three large billboards. They don’t actually exist there. One was huge, light-blue and had writing, but I don’t know what it said. Everything was at a distance. I never saw my own body in the car, no white light either, no tunnel of light and no dead people — only the figure in the back seat that I saw at the point of impact.

I was just about to yell back at the kids that I am out of the car when I woke up behind the wheel. I had never gotten out of the car. I couldn’t get out; EMS had to cut me out. My car was below in a ditch and I couldn’t see the road from my vantage point.

My daughter, who was in the back seat where the back window shattered all over her, got out without a scratch. My head was cut open in the back — major concussion. I needed staples. I still have a broken collar bone, but never got it fixed. The insurance settlement wasn’t enough for the medical bills. We were months behind on mortgage on our house, so that covered that mortgage and most of the medical bills, but was not enough to get my collar bone fixed…

On a side note— my daughter’s friend, who was sitting up front with me, was arguing on the way out of town that he didn’t want to wear his seat belt. I pulled the car over and told him that we are not going anywhere until he put his seat belt on! He did and we were on our way 7 miles out of town to home. He talked about how his uncle died from wearing a seat belt. That was sad. It was only a few minutes over us arguing about seat belts that we were slammed into…..

So, that’s my out-of-body experience. I don’t know if I died but do know that our spirit is very real. We live on. That’s it; that’s my very real story.

And no way was it a dream or a brain malfunction caused by the trauma. I don’t use drugs, didn’t then either, and I don’t even take pain meds. I’m not in pain anymore. My shoulder works fine; it just looks funny…

…….Neighbor told me of his OBE when there was an explosion in his steel mill

When Margi and I lived in Sarver, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh, the neighbor behind me, whose house faced the other street, named Dave K., told me how he had worked at the local steel mill.  There was a huge explosion, which swirled tons of soot off the rafters/girders, creating an enormous black dust-cloud, through which flames were shooting, and fire alarms were clanging. He told me:

I came out of my body and watched the whole scene from 50 feet away. I saw myself racing down the emergency fire-escape ladders located on the inside walls of the mill to get down to the ground floor. I could see myself climbing down, terrified — but I was 50 feet away, seeing myself.
