Corny, innocent, fun and with real talent — 1975 TV with Doris Day and John Denver

Spread the love

When I was 21, this was a hit show with two huge stars — wholesome, fun, with real, serious talent. Entertainment was much more innocent — so hard to imagine today. 😉  (Btw, as Wikipedia pointed out, Doris had to do this show because her own Jewish lawyer, one Rosenthal, had stolen millions from her.)

Donal Cumhea MacNamara
Donal Cumhea MacNamara I remember the Orange County Register painted him as a degenerate (due to his minor “criminal” record) shortly after he passed.

John de Nugent Donal Cumhea MacNamara For what, smoking maryjane, or hoarding gasoline during the 1974 Arab Oil Boycott?

John de Nugent Both Doris Day (née Kappelhoff) and John Denver (né Deutschendorfer) were of German blood, like one third of Americans back then. (Doris is still alive at age 95.)

She had an incredible voice, unruffled, mild, and beautiful, that brought warmth to your heart, and on top of it a bubbly, feminine personality, and outright beauty
