Guess who played the starring role in 1963 in the play “The Diary of Anne Frank”? The other thing that changed her was the 2003 Israeli atrocity under Prime Minister Ariel Sharon of flattening the Palestinian village of Jenin, which, btw, the major media did report on. “Why on earth is the US supporting an Israel that acts like this?”, Margi asked — and she vowed to find the answer, however scary it might be….
Her parents were fine people, but old-style, sincere FDR liberals. This political time bomb between me and them was the only reason I did not join her when she moved back to Asheville, NC, in 2015 to care for them with great devotion in their final days.
My presence there might well have also jeopardized her receiving her modest inheritance — just as I myself had lost mine, millions, for political reasons in 2012.
Margi returned to Ontonagon and to my loving arms with her inheritance in May 2018 — and immediately came down with a very suspicious throat cancer — and I says “suspicious ” because she never smoke, drank, avoided exercise, ate junk food, or was overweight.
The cancer devoured her health, her throat, and most of her inheritance.
