Compulsory vaccination is “off”: New government lifts compulsory vaccination
Czech Republic: On January 19, the five-party coalition in Prague took a far-reaching decision: It lifted the planned corona vaccination requirement for people over 60 years of age, police officers, firefighters, soldiers and health care workers.

The vaccination requirement for parts of the population had been decided by the previous government and should have come into force in March. But “under his government there will be no vaccinations,” said the new Prime Minister Petr Fiala. The rifts in society are too deep and they don’t want to deepen them any further.
Left elected from Parliament
The new government can rely on a solid majority. Because the government of billionaire Andrej Babiš’s Ano party and the Social Democrats, which was tolerated by the communists, was voted out of office in October 2021. Both social democrats and communists failed at the five percent hurdle.
