The lyrebird, a gifted mimic from down in Australia, has sadly lost two-thirds of its habitats in “Oz” after the recent disastrous bush fires.

  1. Somehow, some of them arrived in Tasmania (for those unsure of our “states”, the island to the south of Australia).

I have seen some only in what I call “big forest” (giant trees, and/or rain forest [in northern Australia, facing Indonesia])

To hear their calls, their imitations, I have sadly not yet had that honor.

I will bet 20 cents that their main imitation will be that of a chainsaw. 😉

I have heard from travellers from mainly the US …

“Tasmania is something special. Trees everywhere. These hills. How does this exist?”

My Canadian friend says, “You can climb any mountain in Canada, and look down into the next valley, and see a road.” This place, “the last place on Earth,” is being eaten up by you know who.

To defend this dreamland … [Our] Tasmanians are just hopeless. We need some of you folk [Americans].

    • Thanks for this comment.

I chose carefully in incarnating as an American. Not only is the US a superpower, but its founding mythos is

“freedom from arrogant foreign rulers via owning and using our own guns to kill the forces of tyranny.”

      God, guns, guts and glory.

All our sister white countries of the British Empire were GRANTED independence by London.

      We took it.
