Self-cutting, usually done such as burning with cigarettes, creates a locus to take away pain that is inside (psychic trauma, such as memories, supprressed or open, via nightmares of childhood abuse) and transfers it to the outside….

Coarse cutting usually done by males (up to and including disembowlment), but fine cutting usually by females….(just as women usually commit suicide via pills, oven gas or drowning, but men via gunshot, hanging or other bloody methods)  but this photo depicts coarse cutting by a female….

It makes you wonder what other toys out there have disturbing hidden messages.

Please note that the 99c store is a test-marketing hub for all kinds of products. It seems that the tactic here specifically was for the shiny, aluminum-like covering paper to stay on for a while after the parent bought the child the toy… and only gradually peel or fall away, revealing to the little girl ONLY the self-mutilating scene beneath….
