As sheriffs across the nation signal opposition to enforcing additional federal gun regulations, the Utah Sheriffs’ Association sent a letter to President Obama assuring him that its members similarly will not comply.

The letters insists that the rights of Utah citizens trump any new gun control measure that Congress might pass, and sheriffs in Utah are prepared to trade their lives in defense of their constituents’ right to keep and bear arms.

The letter, signed by 28 of Utah’s 29 sheriffs, sternly rejects the citation of recent tragedies as Congress’s rationale for expanded gun regulations:

With the number of mass shootings America has endured, it is easy to demonize firearms; it is also foolish and prejudiced. Firearms are nothing more than instruments, valuable and potentially dangerous, but instruments nonetheless. Malevolent souls, like the criminals who commit mass murders, will always exploit valuable instruments in the pursuit of evil. As professional peace officers, if we understand nothing else we understand this: lawful violence must sometimes be employed to deter and stop criminal violence. Consequently, the citizenry must continue its ability to keep and bear arms, including arms that adequately protect from all kinds of illegality. [original emphasis]

…as the duly elected sheriffs of our respective counties, we will enforce the rights guaranteed to our citizens by the Constitution. No federal official will be permitted to descend on our constituents and take from them what the Bill of Rights–in particularly Amendment II–has given them. We, like you [Mr. President], swore a solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and we are prepared to trade our lives for the preservation of its traditional interpretation.

Rich County Sheriff Dale Stacey was among the 28 signatories on the letter, and on March 27 he spoke to Breitbart News:

The Sandy Hook shooting was terrible and we, in law enforcement, work to stop those kinds of things from happening. But taking guns from honest people isn’t going to fix anything. The criminals will keep their guns, and regardless of what the law says criminals will always have guns.

I’ve owned a gun for 40 years and I’ve never committed a crime with it. What good can be done by taking it away from me?

We believe that if we do not uphold the oaths we have taken as Sheriffs we will gradually lose all our rights.

One of my missions is to instill in people the fear of God, that there are consequences from On High for cowardice and misprision of treason, especially for men, who are appointed by God to protect and fight, not debate with the wifey, who will almost always say no. (There are rare and laudable exceptions!) We would still be under King George and his successors today, and infinitely worse off, if our male ancestors had listened only to their wives, who just want instinctively to protect the hearth and avoid anything that could get their husband and provider killed.

The owner of a major local restaurant here in Armstrong County is one of my top informants on what is really going on. He told me that Allegheny County alone (where Pittsburgh is located) convicts 2,000 motorists every two WEEKS of DUI (driving under the influence) and fines them $2500 each. He asked me: Do you realize how much revenue that amounts to?

TEN MILLION DOLLARS A MONTH!

One of his friends was so scared of a DUI roadblock he swooped into a stranger’s driveway just 300 feet before the roadblock, pretended it was his OWN house, and slept there half the night. waiting for the roadblock to go away.

For God forbid you see a roadblock, the cops see you, and you turn around!

In Finland, if you just get in your car after a few drinks you can get DUI, even though you have not put the key in the ignition. You can claim “I was going to sleep it off first, officer, and not drive away,” but they reject that. Outrageous. And if you go 5 miles per hour over the limit in Finland: a 100-Euro fine.

You can also be arrested for drunk driving in your car right here in Pennsylvania with the engine off and the key in your pocket.

Pure freudian terror: “We the cops are your masters; you are animals to be beaten.”

My main first goal, as in 1990 when I collected signatures myself under a broiling June Tennessee sun, is to get on the ballot with enough correct signatures. I need to get twice the number I submit, as per the rule of thumb, in case the Enemy goes crazy disqualifying many of my submissions.

THAT MEANS I NEED 760 SIGNATURES.

Once I get the signature, then I give them the very nice-looking business card.

THEN I watch their body language.

IF it is instantly positive, THEN I can ask them about helping me 1) as a volunteer and 2) forming a posse.

Soon I will start getting the 379 valid signatures, and they have to contain the exact voter name as listed on the voter rolls and every word (city, street, room number, postal code) must be filled out by that voter.

Many officials are soooo eager to reject names when an independent runs! Were I running as a Republican or Democrat I would need only 100 signatures! So the independent (with far less volunteer infrastructure and budget) has to get nearly four times as many!

Pennsylvania is a wonderful state, but its politicos are infamous among all the 50 states for passing legislation setting up hurdles against independents and third-party candidates. What we have here is a duopoly, a rule of two, Dems and Reps.

It is very different from other countries with a parliamentary system, which encourages smaller parties.

NO, and for just one reason. I would refuse jury duty and very publicly so proclaim, because it would disarm me. You cannot be in a courthouse except by passing a metal detector.

Never would I trust the jews and their lackeys!

I just got my voter registration card, because I cannot collect signatures unless I myself am a registered voter. (In Pennsylvania, btw, yes, just having a driver’s license can get you jury duty.)

I had refused to register before out of fear I might get assigned jury duty, then find myself arrested on any old bogus charge in the courthouse itself, disarmed after going through the metal detector, as happened to white activist Matt Hale.

He, a lawyer (not allowed a law license because he was a racist!), got framed in 2003 for verbally “approving” by phone — which was totally untrue — the murder of a judge. Hale, who was friends with our own John King, is doing now 40 years in solitary!!!

Matthew F. Hale (born July 27, 1971), more commonly known as Matt Hale, was the third Pontifex Maximus (Latin for “highest priest”) of the nontheistic and ethnocentric religion, Creativity, and the founder of the group formerly known as the World Church of the Creator and now known as The Creativity Movement. The organization’s headquarters were based in East Peoria, Illinois. In 1998, Hale made headlines when his application for an Illinois law license was denied due to his religious beliefs in Creativity, described as a “gross deficiency in moral character”.^[4]

On April 6, 2005, Hale was sentenced to a 40-year prison term for soliciting an undercover FBI informant to kill federal judge Joan Lefkow.^[5] He is currently incarcerated in the Administrative Maximum facility in Florence, Colorado, as Inmate number 15177-424.^[6]

Early life

Hale was raised in East Peoria, Illinois, a city on the Illinois River. By the age of 12, he was reading books about National Socialism such as Adolf Hitler‘s Mein Kampf, and had formed a group at school.^[3]

In August 1989, Hale entered Bradley University, studying political science. In September 1989, Hale began writing editorials in the college newspaper, the Bradley Scout, espousing his views of White Separatism. A student at Bradley, Robert Bingham, also a political science major, began a debate in the college newspaper editorial about civil rights and the Ku Klux Klan. Upon coming out to give his surname, Matt Hale invited the Ku Klux Klan to the campus of Bradley in the spring of 1990; the same year, he was expelled from Bradley. At the age of 19, Hale burned an Israeli flag at a demonstration and was found guilty of violating an East Peoria ordinance against open burning. The next year, he passed out racist pamphlets to patrons at a shopping mall and was fined for littering. In May 1991, Hale and his brother allegedly threatened three African-Americans with a gun, and he was arrested for mob action. Since he refused to tell police where his brother was, Hale was also charged with felony obstruction of justice; he was convicted of obstruction, but won a reversal on appeal. In 1992, Hale attacked a security guard at a mall and was charged with criminal trespass, resisting arrest, aggravated battery and carrying a concealed weapon. For this attack, Hale was sentenced to 30 months probation and six months house arrest.^{[7][not in citation given]}

In 1993, Hale graduated from Bradley University and received a degree in political science. In 1996, Hale founded the New Church of the Creator, a revival of Ben Klassen‘s religious group, that believes that the white race are the creators of all worthwhile civilization. The church believes that a “racial holy war” is necessary to attain a “white world” without Jews and non-whites and to this end it encourages its members to “populate the lands of this earth with white people exclusively”.^[8]

After Hale was appointed “Pontifex Maximus” (supreme leader), he changed the name of the organization to the World Church of the Creator. The name was again changed to the Creativity Movement when a religious group in Oregon (the Church of the Creator) sued Hale’s group for trademark infringement.

Controversy over law license

Hale graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law in May 1998 and passed the bar in July of that same year. On December 16, 1998, the Illinois Bar Committee on Character and Fitness rejected Hale’s application for a license to practice law. Hale appealed, and a hearing was held on April 10, 1999. On June 30, 1999, a Hearing Panel of the Committee refused to certify that Hale had the requisite moral character and fitness to practice law in Illinois.^[9] Two days after Hale was denied a license to practice law, a World Church of the Creator member and college student named Benjamin Smith resigned from The Church and went on a three-day shooting spree in which he randomly targeted members of racial and ethnic minority groups in Illinois and Indiana. Beginning on July 2, 1999, Smith shot nine Orthodox Jews walking to and from their synagogues in Chicago‘s West Rogers Park neighborhood, killed two people, including former Northwestern University basketball coach Ricky Byrdsong, in Evanston, Illinois, and a 26-year-old Korean graduate student named Won-Joon Yoon who was shot as he was on his way to church in Bloomington, Indiana. Smith wounded nine others before committing suicide on July 4. Mark Potok, director of intelligence for the Southern Poverty Law Center, believes that Smith may have acted in retaliation after Hale’s application to practice law was rejected.^[10]

After Smith’s shooting spree, Hale appeared on television and in newspapers saying, “We do urge hatred. If you love something, you must be willing to hate that which threatens it.”^{[citation needed]} He also referred to non-whites as “mud races.” According to Hale, America should only be occupied by whites.^{[citation needed]} During a television interview that summer, Hale stated that his church didn’t condone violent or illegal activities.

In late 2002, Hale filed a class action lawsuit against Judge Joan Lefkow, the United States district court judge presiding over his trademark case. Again in late 2002 and prior to his arrest, Hale denounced Lefkow in a news conference, claiming that she was biased against him because she was married to a Jewish man and had grandchildren who were biracial.

On January 8, 2003, Hale was arrested, charged with soliciting an undercover FBI informant to kill Lefkow.^[11]

On February 28, 2005, Lefkow’s mother and husband were murdered at her home on Chicago‘s North Side. Chicago Police revealed on March 10 that Bart Ross, a plaintiff in a medical malpractice case that Lefkow had dismissed, admitted to the murders in a suicide note written before shooting himself during a routine traffic stop in Wisconsin the previous evening.

The murders and suicide had no connection to Hale or Creativity.^[12]

On April 6, 2005, Hale was sentenced to a 40-year prison term for his conviction for attempting to solicit the murder of Lefkow.^[13]

Hale’s projected release date is December 6, 2037.^[14]
