Hyped and hysterical weather warnings

From Sid Secular, a former Washington DC weatherman for 30 years whom Margi and I know, on alarmist, hyped weather warnings:

They’re issuing severe weather warnings for every “spit and a lick” summer storm lately–and we get many T’storms around here each year.. The weak storms we’ve had lately are not worthy of this attention. The atmosphere could barely spit out the last 2 or 3 “storms” yet severe storm warnings were issued–“wanings” would have been more apt descriptions . It’s like the person who cries wolf all the time. I think this is part and parcel of the campaign from the powers-that-be to keep the public on edge all the time–that I’ve written about before–and that’s why frenetic weather stories lead the pack in the n-yews-casts.
There were hardly any “winds” associated with the latest piddling event we had a few days ago–and I live right in the middle of the warning area. I forecasted weather for 30 years so I keep up with these things.
PS–Silver Spring with a burgeoning population approaching 100,000, is not shown on maps or even mentioned in the forecasted locations(see below towns) for the warnings because it is “unincorpor-rated” so it doesn’t rate, but is a de facto global (swarming) city and a “sanctuary city”..
