Although blacks have dominated the glamorous 100 meter (m) track and field races for decades – both whites and blacks of mixed ancestry have done exceptionally well at the lesser regarded 200m and 400m distances.

Matthew Boling shatters all-time high school 100m record

Enter Mathew Boling, a blonde haired blue-eyed wunderkind short and middle distance runner from Texas – setting all sorts of records in the 200m and 400m events – who last year decided he wanted an opportunity to shine at the sport’s most celebrated event – the 100m.

And boy has he ever, first setting a national high school record, and recently running a 9.89 – a time easily fast enough to qualify for an Olympic 100m final.

Chron's boys athlete of the week: Matthew Boling, Strake Jesuit - Laredo Morning Times
Matthew who hadn’t competed in a 100m race since 7th grade decided at 18 to try it again and BLEW away the competition, winning State and national competitions within 6 months of entering his 1st 100m dash in 5 years

Currently, the devout Christian is the fastest man under 20 years of age in the United States, and experts believe he may very well be on his way to becoming the fastest man in the world.

So….

Is Mr Boling the white version of Usain Bolt?

Only time will tell, but if young Matthew keeps progressing as he has been, it does appear to be the case. Even if he doesn’t dominate the 100m, he does appear to be the favourite to win over 200 and 400 meters in the years to come.

White runners typically have weaker starts, but over 2-400m make up the ground. Boling though, appears to have the goods over the first 60m as well, making him a formidable force over all three distances.

The man is the REAL deal.

And people are taking note.

His events are becoming massive spectacles, with fans arriving from around the country to watch him race. He is THAT good. (as well as humble, well-spoken, respectful and intelligent – all FIRSTS with 100m dash participants). 😉

Enjoy!

  1. I worry for this kid, because the Jews may try to give him HIV/AIDS like they did to the great white boxer boxer Tommy Morrison, who was headed for a world championship title fight with Mike Tyson until he mysteriously came down with AIDS in 1996, which he blamed on his “permissive, fast and reckless lifestyle.” But Mike Tyson also had such a lifestyle, likely even more so, yet he never came down with HIV/AIDS. Tommy Morrison died of AIDS-related heart failure on September 1, 2013, at age 44.
