There are many French names in the Deep South, radiating out from Louisiana, a former French colony, and also way, way up north in New England, all via French Canada. I spent parts of three years in New Orleans and mostly loved it.
I had a very nice
gf there, also a pro-white activist (who used to date David Duke). She hailed from Texas and, at first, all these French names in Louisiana were a puzzlement to her.
On her first day of elementary school, the teacher wrote her name on the blackboard:
