The great pagan Emperor Augustus portrayed as the pagan god Jupiter (or as being inspired and guided by the head god of the Romans). Note Octavius’ (his real name) blond hair. (Ancient marble statues actually used paint frequently to show hair color). The Roman aristocracy was very nordic, and many emperors of the dynasty founded by Julius Caesar were blond, though the great conqueror himself had brown hair and eyes.

Very revealing.
But lets not blast away too happily against jews for some of those comments.
I believe nature worship is wrong, and we should remember the old nature cults that practiced human sacrifice, same as the jews did and apparently still do.
I wholeheartedly reject the term “pagan” as an expression of arrogance of townfolks, i.e. the self-chosen “elite”. It implies their creed was superior to that of the indigenous population. It implies their god was real, while others was fake. I couldn’t care less what god people want to worship in their closet. However, I won’t allow anyone to force his idols onto anyone else.
