My area, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, on the other hand, is cold and has a lot of snow (with six months of winter!), but is friendly and Nordic-white.

Once upon a time, California was very Aryan, very blond, with top universities, wonderful farming, great beaches, bikini babes, and muscle guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger, and also high culture.
