John, I’m so sorry – I sent this weeks ago but just realized I probably did not have the correct phone number to text you. I hope you are at peace and enjoying beautiful fall colors. Here is what I thought I had texted you:
.
Dear John – I’ve thought about calling you so many times since you left that beautiful message about Margie for me on the voicemail. And then you sent the email.
We have been on a big cross-country camping trip, and in many areas where there is no service and constantly moving. Right now we are at a coffeehouse in North Platte, Nebraska and I have a moment of quiet to call you. .
I too am so glad that she’s not suffering anymore and that she went swiftly when she went.
You have been such a beautiful and devoted friend and husband. It makes me think of what Jesus said about no greater love has any man than to lay down his life for a friend.
She was an awesome person, and I’m so glad she was my friend. And by way of her I’m glad that we became friends also. .
Our prayers are with you, our hopes that you are finding comfort and strength, and our confidence that God’s richest blessings will always be yours and Margie’s because of the devotion and love you have for one another.
Much love and peace.
– Jane and Frank

.
Hi, Jane. Thank you so much for your comforting message. 🙂
.
My grief and bereavement are compounded by a grim anger that her local oncologist disliked and “had it in” for her, and having recently read his notes on her case, my fears were confirmed.
.
With this other “Dr. Goodwin,” down in Georgia, the jewishness is more obvious. (Most Goodwins are, however, visibly WASPs.)
How I wish we had made yet another seven-hour trip down to the Mayo Clinic again, two states over — though an Asheville friend named Susan Livingston (now also deceased) who came here and helped us, warned me that Margi was “frail and aged, and a seven-hour road trip has its own costs in terms of her health.”
.
Susan
.
It was hell for me too in the final two months, and my blood pressure skyrocketed to stroke levels from giving her literally round-the-clock care.
.
.
I am very strong, but this was a serious wound.
.
.
Margi’s ashes and death certificate – the final two thuds of my new reality…. and photos of us:
.
.
.
.
This jewish doctor called Margi “argumentative” and “non-compliant” in his notes — and he acted hostile toward her from the very first appointment, to my shock.
.
But she immediately complied with absolutely everything the Mayo Clinic wanted her to do in 2019-20, and why? .
….because they were respectful, gentle, and tactful to my redhead, as well as being incredibly professional.
.
.
My bp got so high, and my heart literally sore, that I was in the ER three times.
.
I found out there is such a thing as dying from a broken heart.
.
A local warned me: “I have seen it so often that one spouse dies, and the other one is gone within a month. I knew this one couple, and she died to the minute exactly one week after he did.”
.
But with the help, with the food and lifestyle advice, and with the prayers of many dear friends, I got my BP way, way down again. 🙂
.
.
.
But now I know why so many people hate doctors. Some are monsters.
This Goodwin caused us incredible suffering,
…and her death caused great financial hardships after Margi crossed over. Our monthly income dropped from $3200 to $812. Now I am working on something to stay afloat.
.
Yes, I served her every need 24/7, and I feel her presence now from a godly and beautiful world without pain. 🙂
In heaven everyone is thirty
.
Thank you for reading this, and for being Margi’s dear friends.
.
— John
.
.
….Final note
Now my hatred of jewry knows no limits.
.
Onward and upward — to merciless victory. Now I can focus again on the real problem… before they kill us ALL.
.
