Spoiler alert: this movie is about a true tragedy that happened in Arizona in 2014
It is a great human drama, and it is a 100 % white one, without a single Mexican, black or Jew.
And it all happened.
I had seen some urban firefighting movies before (such as “Backdraft” with Kurt Russell), but this is about elite forest fire fighters. The 2017 film Only the Brave was based on the Granite Mountain Hotshots and the actual Yarnell Fire outside the town of Yarnell, Arizona.
It is also a touching drama of the lives of the men, their wives and kids.

The tragedy that happens is no fault of the men, but of others, specifically a pilot of a special water-tanker plane dumping water on the fire, and the pilot twice gets it horribly wrong.
I am grateful to the Marine Corps because they emphasize that life is no game or joke but deadly serious. If you screw up, you and your friends will DIE.
A shame in this meme only that Millennials do not know the most basic punctuation, such as the “colon” symbol, which is two dots — not a dot over a comma…. or are so high on caffeine or some other drug that they just type this stuff up and shoot it un-proofread onto the Net.

My thought in watching the masterpiece of a movie that is “Only the Brave” is that some sensitive Millennial who could not take criticism was probably piloting the water-tanker plane that caused the deaths of those 19 white forest-fire-battling heroes.
