Putin gives historic speech, angry, bitter and sad, to entire military leadership: we tried for peace, but no agreement by the West can be trusted; best prepare now for war

Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, delivered a speech Tuesday to top commanders and military historians (!) in which he said that he was prepared to use his military against an increasing threat from NATO.

The speech marked a turn to an even more aggressive tone from the Kremlin than we have seen in weeks, and marks the first time in recent years that Putin himself (not his foreign minister, Lavrov, or defense minister, Shoigu) has threatened to send the Russian military to war.

The elder Duran says in his video (below) that Russian officers are steeped in Russian military history.

(And why not, since it does contain many victories. And the Russian mindset is “history teaches that we Russians always win in the end. If you attack us, count on it — our troops will march through YOUR capital.”)

Putin’s speech would certainly remind these generals of one given by Stalin 80 years ago, in May 1941, warning correctly that war was coming, and it did break out a month later.

Putin’s tone was parallel: we don’t want war; we tried to avoid it, but it is coming anyway, so get ready.

A Russian reported on YouTube underneath the Duran video below that the English translation of his speech seemed toned down compared to the Russian original, which was quite angry and even bitter.

“If our western colleagues continue this clearly aggressive stance, we will take appropriate military-technical measures in response and react harshly to hostile steps,” he said, adding, “Do they really think we’ll sit idly by as they create threats against us?”

Putin was warning of conflict and blaming the West, as if he were talking to future historians and generations before WWIII. “What’s happening now, the tension developing in Europe, is their fault. At every step Russia was forced to somehow respond,” he said. “At every step the situation grew increasingly worse … and degraded…. And I want to stress that we are within our rights to do what is required to ensure Russia’s security and sovereignty,” he added.

Ominously, Putin emphasized that Russia’s lead in hypersonic missiles was temporary and the US was about to get its own comparable missiles. He also said he feared the US would give such missiles to Ukraine.

Basically: the longer we wait for negotiations to achieve something, the stronger the US/NATO/Ukraine will be when they drop their charade.

And he also said in so many words that even if negotiations do result in some sort of agreement, ‘can we trust anything the Americans sign?”

And that is truly ominous. That sounds like “war is inevitable so we should maybe start it when we want to, not them.”

Putin also said that any stringing out by the Americans of negotiations of the demilitarization and de-NATO-ization of Eastern Europe would be seen through as a delaying tactic while the USA buildup on Russia’s borders continue. He emphasized that negotiations must begin and make progress by a certain date, or Russia will get tired of empty talk and act.
