I can saw this, that ‘sticker shock” (as in price stickers, an old term) is sure hitting home with me. When a price on a staple leaps way up, it shocks you, and as a result, you cut back on some impulse buying. So baking soda used to be 50 cents for a little box, and now it is 95… What this means is people will cut way back on non-essentials, and so the small, independently owned restaurants, and bar & grills will suffer or go under….already hit so very hard by the Covid lockdowns.
.
The little guy will get it in the neck once again, while our “betters” pile up the cash.
.
When will the plebes get it that we do not live in a real democracy, but a plutocracy?
.
People today do not understand the steep rise of fascism in the 1920-43 period, which did take away many political freedoms, but the fascists said this was to end the eternal, insane squabbling and half measures, and besides, what is more important, constant partisan elections — or having food in your stomach and being able to walk the streets to work or shopping, or home from a restaurant, without your wife or daughter being mugged, raped or killed?
.
The West is NOT, I repeat, NOT a democracy, and the truth is, it never was.
.
ALL these wars, including WWII, were decided on by a tiny cabal, not by the “demos,” not by the people.
.
The Germans rejected multi-party democracy after fully experiencing it 1918-1933, and found Weimar to be nonstop bickering, poverty, chaos, moral degeneracy, and one humiliation after another because they had a very tiny military under the Versailles Treaty, and their neighbors had huge militaries.
.
And then there was the fear of the rise of the Communist Party of Germany. In the second 1932 election, it became the SECOND BIGGEST party in Germany, after Hitler’s own NSWPP. And the Soviet Union was located right next door. This was no faraway threat.
.
Fmr US president Herbert Hoover toured Germany in March 1938, and met with Hitler in Berlin at the Reich Chancellery.
.
He admitted to Hitler that Germany had made enormous economic and other progress under his rule, but said “in the United States, we cannot use your methods under our Constitution.”
.
Hitler replied: “True, but it was the squabbling of the parties that paralyzed the country, and prevented all decisive action. And if we had not come to power, the communists would have, and then you would have neither freedom nor prosperity, just a crushing general misery and fear.
.
And, Mr. President, it was YOUR country, your Wall Street, your Goldman Sachs, your Federal Reserve, and your [powerful ethnic group] which caused the Great Depression which was destroying the German people until we came to power.
.
In 1932 there was a wave of suicides across our country as people abandoned all hope.
.
Why should we go back to plutocracy, misery, poverty and suicide? Just to have elections???”
.
Suppose now that The Most Evil Tyrant Ever did not deliberately start WWII, did not intend to conquer the world, and did not gas six million jews, then we would have to admit that the Greatest Generation was all wrong. Patton did, and so they killed him.
.
Fascism was a necessary evil — ordering people around for their own good –because people in general, and let’s be honest here, are in fact spiritually primitive, they deny reality, they fight and bicker pointlessly and constantly, and so they are not capable YET of this lofty and noble ideal that is democracy.
.
Here is a perfect example of denial, but people on the right are guilty of denial as well. This is classic cognitive dissonance, of what Eckhart Tolle calls “the egoic mind”…and this is the central problem earthlings have, their wont of picking and choosing their beliefs based on feelings, where the truth, facts and evidence are boring, tedious, irritating, and quite secondary, or tertiary — or no factor at all in their thinking.

…It’s absolutely okay on this sorry planet to lie, slander and agitate people to achieve your goal
Andriy Melnik is the Ukrainian ambassador to Germany, no less, and this is what he recently tweeted out:
“Hi, honey, I just found the nicest shoes for our little boy. Gotta go. Luv ya. Bye.”
.
Part of why Putin started off his invasion-liberation of Ukraine with rather gentle tactics is that he really expected the Ukrainians to still be almost as they were back in Soviet (or tsarist) days — friends and brother Slavs with the Russians.
.
He could not fathom what eight years of jew hate campaigns on every tv channel, in every newspaper, magazine and movie could accomplish to turn the Russians into monsters in the Ukrainian mind.
.
And so the Ukies fire deliberately and directly at houses with civilian people living in them! Intrepid American film journalist Patrick Lancaster reports:
And yet nobility, bravery and kindness are there as well, waiting to come out! And which feels better deep inside you, to hate and kill someone, or to help them and save a human’s or animal’s life?
I say the sweetest joy comes from helping!
