I just saw some younger guy snarking against “Boomers.” I replied: Listen, some of your own generation are PATHETIC. We Boomers are the sons and daughter of the Great Depression/WWII generation, many of us went to Vietnam, or served otherwise in the military (I was Marines and Army infantry), and we were NOT spoiled, or glued to a phone.

I have heard 20 employers (including here in Houghton in the UP) say “the young people today don’t want to work.” This unreliability is so bad that when I lived near a steel mill on the Kiskiminetas river near Pittsburgh, a manager there (whom I ran into in a bar & grill) confided in me:
“Inofficially, we don’t hire anyone at all under 50 — no work ethic.”….

I have a friend who sells generators at construction sites, some located way out in remote areas in the west. He noticed Mexicans on the jobsite. He told me he asked a foreman:”Why don’t you hire white American kids?” He answered: “The Mexicans are willing to WORK! If I hire white kids, they may show up at 7am and work until noon, but they don’t even come back after lunch at all, or even bother to tell me they quit! They would rather play video games and check their phones.”

In my case, I started a big paper route in snowy New England at age 13, am now 70, and I have worked almost every day since then. So these Boomer-bashers need to take a hard look at their own generation, and stop looking down on us. The only “stimulus checks” back then were you got paid on Friday.

Michael Riley Yes, but it is not merely an excuse. Too many employers have told me personally how “entitled” many younger workers feel. There is a Chinese restaurant in Houghton (Michigan) and the owner told me he cannot get any younger person to work there — this in a college town of over 10,000. He had a lady in her late fifties as a waitress.
John De Nugent I do agree to do a degree the younger generations don’t have as good a work ethic as previous generations, and it’s because they’re spoiled compared to yesterday’s generations. It’s not all of them, though, and there is an agenda to get cheap labour from the Third World in. This could easily be resolved by society instead of just quickly going to get the Third World to replace us.
Michael Riley I could not agree more. National Socialism was the case of a major nation turning around in every way and getting healthy within two years! We don’t need hordes of yellow and brown people; our white ancestors worked plenty hard and built the modern world!

I’ve done demolition and construction. I worked hard and got paid, but did notice the open discrimination, spending many days waiting for work unless I volunteered my car for ride sharing. I’ve seen a lot of construction crews in the rural south (Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana) made of mostly Whites and blacks. They seemed to get along like in jail, live and let live, team up on others.

In Texas there is a lot of age discrimination against older Whites. One of my friends works in electronics repairs and is experienced and highly skilled, but gets to work with Chinese and blacks that do less and get more. He’s afraid to change jobs, though. It really hurts him.

Most of Generation z is completely messed up. I don’t blame everything on the Boomers. A lot of them resisted and tried to stop desegregration and mass immigration.

But the government forcefully desegregrated the schools and neighbourhoods with the armed National Guard. There’s not much you can do when you’re up against a National Guard that is armed with machine guns and rifles with bayonets.

I think Generation Z don’t want to do hard work because they’re weak and entitled spoilt brats. But I’m part of Generation Y, not Z, and I wasn’t spoilt or entitled growing up. The system is designed to keep white males down, so why would I care about having a hard work ethic for a society that excludes white males and is openly anti white and resents us?

The communist hippies of the 60’s and 70’s were a minority, so I don’t blame things on the Baby Boomers. White men have always done the hard work building the world’s greatest civilisations and maintaining them.

I’ve met plenty of young white women in their early to mid twenties that openly hate white men,and are either dating a black men or lesbians, dating white women. There is only a small black population in Australia, so a lot of white women imagine Blacks are poor, oppressed victims of white male oppression.
