I call bullshit on this:
1) Patton was VERY, VERY antisemitic and also pro-German (though not pro-Nazi);
2) the assassination was by poisoning him in the hospital AFTER the truck accident. Why otherwise, as Felton admits, did many of his medical records — as a four-star general — go “missing”? Someone needed paper to wipe up some spilled milk in the cafeteria?
The revenge killings of over a million Germans after the war would not have run so smoothly if Patton had escaped assassination. Bradley was Patton’s minder and while the movie, with George T. Scott is a good movie, it’s also a whitewash.
Well, Patton died in December 1945….and the genocidal Rhine Meadow Camps, located a few hundred miles away from Bavaria (which Patton was governing), were set up startsing in March of 1945. I am not aware that Patton knew anything about them, or just how bad they were.
