US atrocities in the Philippines and hypocrisy in WWI

Life magazine in 1902 proudly shows US Army soldiers waterboarding a Filipino, guilty of not wanting his country, which the US had just freed from Spain, to become instead a colony of the United States.

Excellent article by Yeager…especially targeting the monstrous hypocrite Elihu Root. As Secretary of War, Root had ordered savage policies against Filipino civilians, yet wept copious crocodile tears over fake, invented atrocities which he and his, undeclared agents of England, imputed to the innocent Germans.
