Ex-Polish FM thanks US for destruction of Russian gas pipeline
While the US, Russia and most European governments have reserved judgment as to who might be behind Monday’s explosion that damaged both Nord Stream pipelines, former Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski had no such qualms.
“Thank you USA,” Sikorski tweeted on Tuesday, alongside a photo of the massive gas leak in the waters of the Baltic Sea. Both pipelines were severely damaged off the coast of the Danish island of Bornholm, in what many now call a deliberate act.
Sikorski later tweeted, in Polish, that damage to Nord Stream means that Russia will have to “talk to the countries controlling the Brotherhood and Yamal gas pipelines, Ukraine and Poland” if it wishes to continue delivering gas to Europe. “Good work,” he concluded.
Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 lost all pressure on Monday, after what the Swedish and Danish authorities later said were a series of undersea explosions. The first pipeline was operating at reduced capacity after what Russia said were technical difficulties, while the second was fully pressurized but not operational, due to German refusal to certify it.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wondered if Sikorsky’s tweet amounted to an “official statement that this was a terrorist attack.” Meanwhile, Moscow’s deputy ambassador to the UN, Dmitry Polyanskiy, thanked Sikorski for “making it crystal clear who stands behind this terrorist-style targeting of civilian infrastructure!”

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki didn’t go quite as far as Sikorski, but chose to describe the Nord Stream incident as “an act of sabotage, related to the next step of escalation of the situation in Ukraine.”
Not just any MEP, Sikorski is a former UK citizen and a fellow at numerous US and NATO think-tanks, as well as Poland’s former defense (2005-2007) and foreign minister (2007-2014). In October 2014, he was caught fabricating a claim about Russian President Vladimir Putin wanting to partition Ukraine with Warsaw, and was forced to recant.
Sikorski called Russia a “serial rapist” in January 2022 and in June told Ukraine’s Espreso TV that NATO had the right to give Kiev nuclear weapons. He is married to American pundit Anne Applebaum, who is also an outspoken foe of Russia.
While Sikorski thanked the US for the Nord Stream sabotage, Kiev blamed Russia. President Vladimir Zelensky’s adviser Mikhail Podoliak called it “a terrorist attack planned by Russia and an act of aggression towards EU,” arguing the best response would be sending German tanks to the Ukrainian army.

Btw, I read that the USS Kearsarge and a unit of US naval commandos were in the Baltic when this happened. And by amazing cohencidence, Norway’s pipeline’s to Poland is just now all set to go….
A lot of evidence points to the USA. Russia has nothing to gain and a lot to lose if the pipelines are shut down. At least in the long run. And besides, if Russia wanted them down, all they would have to do is turn a few valves and no more gas for the EU. Eastern Europe can get gas through the Turkish pipeline. This young man has a pretty good handle on what is going on.

Is Germany even a sovereign country? It seems the USA has occupied Germany since the fall of the Third Reich? The elite is doing a swell job of destroying Germany’s economy. Die Unterrichtung der Bundesregierung zu dem Anschlag auf die deutsche kritische Infrastruktur erbrachte am Ende mehr Fragezeichen als Informationen.
Schon nur bei der Frage der Zuständigkeiten in der Regierung die Ermittlungen betreffend, herrschte Verwirrung – offensichtlich hat man gar nicht vor, sich um die Aufklärung zu kümmern.
Schon gar nicht wird in alle Richtungen ermittelt, sondern nur in jene, die in das eigene Rußland=böse und USA=gut Narrativ paßt – und dies tatsächlich auf Basis der Auskunft, man wisse zwar eigentlich noch gar nichts, aber man könne jetzt schon davon ausgehen, dass es die Russen waren.
Auch bei den Warnungen des amerikanischen Geheimdienstes vor Anschlägen auf Nordstream blieb die Informationspolitik der Bundesregierung mangelhaft: weder wurden danach Abwehrmaßnahmen getroffen, um so einen Anschlag zu vereiteln, noch wurde überhaupt nur der Eigentümer von Nordstream von der Gefährdungslage in Kenntnis gesetzt.
In Anbetracht des bislang größten Anschlages auf die deutsche Energieinfrastruktur wurde nur eines deutlich: Interesse an der Unversehrtheit dieser Pipelines bestand gar nicht und statt Aufklärung soll bereits neue Propaganda betrieben werden.

5.000 nagelneue Erdgasrohre für Nord Stream 2 lagern Im Hafen von Mukran (Sassnitz).
Dänemark hatte Nord Stream 2 den Bau in seinen Gewässern monatelang verweigert. Die Nord Stream 2 AG sorgte vor, plante eine Umgehung. Dazu bestellte das Unternehmen tausende Röhren zusätzlich.
Im Januar 2021 gab die Energiebehörde in Kopenhagen schließlich doch noch die Baugenehmigung, aber da waren die zusätzlichen Röhren schon geliefert und mit Beton ummantelt.
Kommentar: Die Rohre sind nur außen gegen die Korrosion durch das Salzwasser geschützt. Es kommt also darauf an, die Pipeline so schnell wie möglich zu reparieren, bevor das Salzwasser innen die Beschichtung angreift. Das Material ist SOFORT VERFÜGBAR!
