Sadly, Ravage is right about this part, or he WAS, back in the 1920s, a century ago. But we are in a post-Christian and thus post-Biblical age now. It is true that the disgraceful Fourth Crusade of AD 1202-04 was fought between Catholics and Orthodox Christiansm, but over power and greed, not so much doctrine.
There were also terrible wars between Protestants and Catholics in England, France and especially Germany, and the Thirty Years War of 1618-48 cost Germany about 1/5th of its population and as much of its territory.
But the main instigator of that war was France, whose goal to was to weaken Germany forever.
So the ruthless French Cardinal Richelieu even supported the Protestants against his fellow Catholics, the Habsburg dynasty of Germany.
It took Germany 150 years to recover from the devastation, and the horrors and the atrocies were so bad that no German was willing thereafter to fight over any supposedly important religious differences in docrine ever again.
Religions are used by rulers to fight wars for power, as much, or more than for doctrine.
And the common people also join religions for power and advantage.
In India, Hinduism enforced the caste syste, so by joining the newer religions of Buddhism, Islam and Sikhims, lower- and middle-caste Indians could escape its restrictions and the rule over them by the Hindu priests of the brahmin caste.
It is a gross exaggeration to claim that doctrinal disputes caused these wars among Christians or kept them going. The American Revolution,

….were absolutely not fought over Christian doctrines, and, in fact, these wars ignored and contradicted every value and idea in Christianity.
